The article analyzes the socio-psychological determinants of a criminal act under Art. 151.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This study was carried out on the basis of administrative, criminal and other statistics obtained on the official websites of various state bodies, reports of state authorities, as well as criminal cases brought under this article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The author gives an assessment of the role of the family and socially useful activities in the formation of personality. At the same time, there is a decrease in the anti-crime potential of the family institution, which largely determines the formation of indifferent attitude of sellers to underage buyers who purchase alcohol. The lack of control by parents due to their employment in socially useful activities creates favorable conditions for the commission of these illegal acts. A study of the current working conditions of trade workers led to the conclusion that there are numerous violations of guarantees and compensations provided by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. The seller being in a state of exposure, gradually becomes loyal to numerous violations of the law in the field of trade, begins to perceive them as hopeless and justifying the unlawful behavior of both the employer and himself. The seller’s social acceptability for numerous violations of the law is gradually becoming preceded by a violation of the criminal law.
